Video's online
I think we could definately use online videos in our Library. Firstly we could promote our Library through video's with what services we provide, we could also use online video for book reviews. We have just built a new Library we could have used online video to keep the community up to date with how the Library was progressing in the stages it was built. I like the idea of training via online video, especially if the Library has many branches!!!!!!
More Google.
I did not know about the "Google translate", I had a customer come ion one day with a medicine precaution paper and he wanted to know if I could find him a copy in English not Japanese. I was unable to as all the searches I did only located the same precaution papers as he had in Japanese. If I had of know of about this tool I could have got him the information he needed. Another time we could have used this tool was when a client was receiving letters from a French lady, she had a person who could translate and write letters in French, but this friend moved and she was trying to find someone else who could help her out. At this time I did not know about this tool or it may not of been established yet, it would have been perfect for her to read and write letters to her pen pale overseas.
The Google calendar could be used within our Library for the staff to keep up to date with what is happening between the two branches. We could have one calendar that all staff have to ability to add and view. We could also allow external clients to view our calendar therefore they could see our upcoming events and if they were interested in them contact us regarding them.

WEB BROWSERS!!!!!!!!!
Tried watching the video on firefox, but it wouldn't let me : ( I have used google chrome before and the layout of this web browser is very plan and easy to get around. We use Internet explorer at work and I was unable download the video on Firfox, so I downloaded FireFox and was really impressed with the speed of the download. When you look at the internet explorers and compare them, Firefox has a lot more to offer there are plenty of features there on the page where as google does not have many listed on the page. I think from this little exercise I will be changing my web browser to Firefox.
Ive downloaded firefox to one of the work computers and I'm very impressed with speed of the browser along with the layout and functions available. Also when I downloaded the new browser it asked if I wanted to take all history and passwords from the Internet explorer which was awesome because I didn't have to manually save it all to firefox myself it did it by itself. Think this is going to be my new browser at home.

Podcasts!!!!
I LOVE the triple J podcast page!!!! Love my music so this grabbed my attention straight away. They offer a podcast that sends you a selection of music that you choose every week!!! You can have these songs downloaded into ITUNES so very handy for someone with an IPOD. You can get the latest music downloaded weekly through triple J's podcast and send it straight to your ipod, which would save you lots of money in the long run!!!! And with downloading your music from Triple J you know your getting good quality music, and not some dodgy files.

Mashups
I like the real estate mashup, great to be able to see a picture of the house plus where abouts in the area it is located. Is a very different way of buying and selling real estate, opens up to whole new range of potential clients as well. Wasn't impressed with the Twitter ones as I'm not a big fan of twitter at all. Very Impressed with he real estate though.
Online applications and tools
Google doc's would come in handy for our Library as we have two branches. Instead of sending multiple copies of emails with the same document, we could use the google docs and let all staff have access, that way all staff members can add there own to the document and its up to date as soon as they save. This way all staff will see the current version of the documents. I think I could use this with my co worker on the magazines as the purchasing of new magazines happens in the Gatton branch. For example if Gatton was to subscribe to a new magazine they could add that magazine to the list on Google doc's and I would know straight away, and this could be done vice verse.

Folksonomies & Tagging
http://delicious.com/TishTash
Okay wow, I really like this site!!!! I have created my own for Holidays now all the great sites that I check out for special deals are just one click away for me. It would be excellent to have all our websites that we search through to find information on books or serials in this for work. This site would be very useful to a wide range of business’s not just the Library industry. Thumbs up all round for this site from me.
Never used Technorati or heard of this site before, but was interesting. I see that this site is a good way to get your blog out there, this would be a great tool for businesses so that they get it out to the people they need to! When searching for "bookmobile" I got the same results for the normal search and the advanced search. I had a couple of goes, but still the same, will have to have a little more of a play with this site I think.

Library Thing another good website, out of the three that we have looked at I would say 1. delicious 2. Library thing and 3. Technorati. Library thing is great way to gather all books you have read and add reviews and share with other people as well. This site would help with finding other authors that write similar.
